Speaking in my capacity as the president of the Somaliland-Australian Friendship Foundation in order to express our sincere and heartfelt appreciation towards the great Australian organizations, who have immensely responded and seriously considered to our urgent appeal of providing assistance to our desperately needed people back home in Somaliland. This 40 feet High Cube medical equipment container consistent of desperately needed donated medical equipment and other desperately needed educational materials will eventually help to bring relief to the people of Somaliland who are suffering from the effects of devastating drought and so many other curable diseases. As you would probably be aware of the Horn of Africa region is now so acute that an estimated one million people living in the region are at high risk of death from disease and starvation.

Furthermore, in response to this desperate situation the Somaliland- Australian Friendship Foundation a non for- profit organization has organized a container full of all these extremely needed essentials to be send to Somaliland, via the port of Berbera, that we hope will alleviate some of the need caused by that unbearable and totally unforgiving and unforgettable drought with disease and starvation.

Above all, this work is being done in collaboration of Donating in Kind Rotary Club in West Footscray and AUS Maritime PL, whom we have entrusted the task to contact various hospitals including Alfred hospital, Austin Hospital, Cabrini Hospital and Monash Hospital and of course other educational organizations in Victoria for the said purpose. Our sincere and heartfelt appreciation goes to AUS Maritme PL and West Footscray Rotary Club for their magnificent and remarkable cooperation.  The container will apparently be placed at the warehouse of West Footscray Rotary Club, packed therein and will eventually shipped from Port of Melbourne in Australia to Port of Berbera in Somaliland with transits via Singapore and Jabel Ali in UAE.

However, the Somaliland-Australian Friendship Foundation still appeals to your generosity as we intend to send another container soon to Somaliland, which will somehow accommodate to cover their extreme and dire economic and other social and health circumstances. We are therefore desperately appealing for nay medical equipment, supplies or even educational materials and of course any other items such as beds, chairs, clothing or shoes that may be available to donate for the people of Somaliland. Our intention is to send any medical equipment or supplies directly to Schools, Universities and hospitals, which is an institutions that continues to suffer badly from an extreme lack of funds and resources.

It is our most sincere hope that you will be able to work with us to bring much needed relief to the people of Somaliland who are at this particular time in great need of our assistance.

If you have any questions regarding these matters mentioned as above or wish to discuss them in further detail. I would be very happy to make myself available to meet with you at a time of your convenience. Alternatively you can also contact us directly or if possible visit our office to discuss further in person.

Yours Sincerely,

Mohamed Hussein
